THE STORY OF OUR FOUNDER
From creating visual art and sculpture to learning piano and appreciating classical music, and later delving into graphic design, animation, interaction design, interface design, and user experience design—together with rigorous academic research and exploration—every stage of Noreen Huang (黃慧昍)’s journey has been nourishment shaping who she is. Each artistic taste, discipline, and scholarly pursuit has become a source of growth, feeding her creativity and forming the very texture of her artistic philosophy. These combined experiences continue to inspire profound and lasting ideas that guide both her work and her life.

Art project
This project explores the concept of warmth through bodily movement and direct contact with materials, creating an atmosphere that feels intimate and alive. By intentionally softening color saturation, the focus shifts from visual intensity to the gestures of making—the press, stretch, and rhythm of the artist’s body as it meets the medium. These movements leave imprints of thought and emotion, turning physical action into a quiet, perceptible climate. Presented in the exhibition About White, the work becomes an experiment on how sensations are formed when body, material, and feeling interlace.
Each raised form emerged from deliberate, tactile movements: pressing, folding, and shaping with bare hands while holding an inner image of warmth. The aim was to discover whether emotions can be inscribed in matter and later awakened in others through their own touch. Although the forms appear spiked and sharp, like clusters of needles, visitors repeatedly described a sense of gentle warmth. This unexpected response opened questions about how different senses make independent, sometimes opposing, judgments.
During my graduate studies, I deepened this inquiry into the autonomy of sensory perception. My thesis, A Study on the Formal Beauty of Tactile Sense, investigated how touch constructs its own aesthetic space. I designed nine tactile patterns by varying randomness, density, and frequency, and invited visually impaired participants to explore them. Through semantic differential analysis and multidimensional scaling (MDS), I mapped a three-dimensional psychological space that linked bodily exploration of form to emotional resonance.
The findings confirmed that touch perceives in ways fundamentally distinct from sight, and at times even creates opposite impressions. These insights continue to guide my creative practice, leading me to center art—and life itself—on the dynamic relationship between thought, emotion, and physical action, where the movement of the body and the feel of materials become the language of atmosphere and connection.
Illustration Work
Drawing freely allows me to enhance my visual vocabulary and construct my own visual language. It's about intuitive colors and shapes, all part of noreenmomo's unique visual language.

Paper Prototype
In addition to creating prototypes with HTML, CSS, and Flash, my preference for handmade prototypes stems from my passion for craftsmanship. By crafting prototypes by hand, I’m able to let my ideas flow seamlessly from one point to the next, sparking a continuous stream of creativity. This ability to extend ideas in a fluid, ongoing manner is a unique feature that only handmade prototypes can offer.
